I just made this quilt yesterday and today with the twelve blocks that I tested for you on the birds.  Two of the blocks are the 5x7 blocks with two birds the other ten are the single birds.

I had a jelly roll of 2 1/2 inch strips that I used as the borders on each block.  After the top was pieced, I than used a fleece blanket for the back and stitched in the ditch between each block.  For our Texas weather, kids do not need heavy quilts and it makes for a soft cuddly side and a pretty side.  I than took the left over pieces, sewed them together and used that as the binding.

The pictures really do not do justice to the actual quilt.
